If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and like to explore landscapes of unique beauty, there's no need to look any further! Our Hotel St. Jakob in Burgeis lies in one of the sunniest regions of South Tyrol: The Vinschgau Valley. It's spectacular countryside has a lot to offer in all seasons: skiing, biking or hiking as well as interesting cultural activities... Visit us in Burgeis, Vinschgau Valley and experience the magic of one of South Tyrol's most beautiful regions!
Burgeis lies in the Upper Vinschgau Valley between Lake Reschen and Glurns, Italy's smallest village with a romantic medieval touch. Burgeis itself is a medieval and bucolic village full of archways, frescoes and perrons in the middle of narrow alleys, tiny churches (St. Nikolaus and St. Stephan) and ancient crofts and farms of larch wood. The medieval castle Fürstenburg and the highest lying Abbey in Europe, the sublime Benedictine Marienberg Abbey built in the 12th century, add to the village's ancient charm.
Most of our holiday flats and apartments enjoy a great view on the Abbey Marienberg, the Fürstenburg and the magnificent Vinschgau Valley. Burgeis lies at the foot of Mount Watles, a mountain that offers great hiking trails and walks as well as ski slopes and cross-country ski runs in winter time.
We are looking forward to your visit!
Kind regards!
